OpenFoam

Hey guys,

I wanted to share my thoughts about the open source FEA/CFD package, openFoam. I have been using it as part of the free linux distribution, CAElinux 2013. I have been playing around with some of the tutorials for the past few weeks. Very interesting and cool.

After familiarizing myself with the file structure and procedures I was able to come up with this after adapting the motorBike tutorial to my needs.

openFoam is extremely powerful and flexible in its abilities, however it has a very steep learning curve. I still have a lot to perfect before I can start generating accurate performance predictions, but it is pure joy using such a open and free CFD solution.
